Almost all professional real estate companies make great boasts about the quality of their agents… as though the consumer can take heart just because their agent is from company X. This might make good publicity, but it has nothing to do with reality. That is because nearly all professional real estate companies aggressively hire anyone with a real estate license – with or without experience. While the best companies do in fact provide tools and training to help their agents, whether or not they are used is entirely up to the individual agent. Most brokers allow their associates to work full-time jobs outside of real estate!
Setting aside such disadvantages within the industry, a truly professional Realtor is well-worth their commission and offers a vital service to society. Home values would not be what they are if it wasn’t for professional Realtors and many more buyers and sellers would fall victim to the unethical intent of those that would seek to take advantage of them. Consider that in 2013, the median home listed without a Realtor (FSBO) sold for $40,000 less than the same type of home sold by a Realtor… that’s after taking out commissions! When you consider the many benefits, little room is left to doubt that the real estate industry offers respectable value to society. That is why I am so proud to represent the industry as a Realtor of Blackstone Realty!
Blackstone Realty sets itself apart by holding a higher standard for the industry. One example of this can be seen in how we are an “invitation only” broker. This means we do not hire anyone with a real estate license. All Blackstone Professional Real Estate Consultants are expected to be committed full-time to real estate and maintain a top level of training and education. In regards to our sellers, we are one of the elite few that can make a pledge of consistency. At almost every other broker, just about all of the duties and responsibilities for marketing the listing is left to the individual agents. That is why one listing has lousy photos and virtually no web presence and another listing looks fantastic and has an online tour (in the same office)! Not at Blackstone however. Why? Because we have professional photographers, web developers and graphic design specialists!
Let’s face it… Real estate agents do not make good photographers and they make even worse graphic designers! Besides, isn’t the idea to make your home look like it’s worth TOP DOLLAR?
